TCL S305 Smart TV Review 40" (2017 Version)
The TCL S305 1080p Roku TV is a passable budget LED TV. It has decent picture quality, and it sports some of the best smart features available. Unfortunately, it cannot get very bright, and its handling of motion could be better. Note that the 28" and 32" models are 720.
I use 3 of these TVs in my home. Are there better TV's Yes but for the price these TV's are great!

Picture
The TCL S305 TV has a decent picture quality. The native contrast and black uniformity are great and should provide a passable movie experience, especially when set in a dark room. When set in a bright room though, the picture quality won't be as good since the peak brightness is not that high. As a result, the TV won't be able to overtake the glare from a bright light of a sunny window, unfortunately.
The viewing angle and gray uniformity are below average and wouldn't make this TV the best option to watch a sporting event with a large group of people since when sitting off center, the picture quality will be diminished.
Dimming
The picture is easily dimmable for night viewing in the settings. In very bright sunlight it could use a brighter picture. But it should be satisfactory for most.
Viewing Angle
The picture is best from viewing head on. The futhure the angle the worse the picture, as with most tvs that are not curved.
Reflections
The TV has a semi-gloss finish so reflections are diffused quite well. Direct sunlight reflections can be a problem but it's pretty good in this area.
Design
The mattress is compressed, sealed and delivered in a box. The delivery of the mattress is available for addresses in the U.S including Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. The delivery charge for those living the contiguous areas of the U.S is FREE, but there is a delivery charge for Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.
After ordering, it takes 1 to 3 days to process the order and it takes another 3 to five days before delivery is done. After ordering, track number comes after the order has been processed i.e. you won’t get your tracking number immediately after ordering. The delivery is done by FedEx Ground and they don’t provide removal of old mattress service. The free delivery is for standard-size mattresses, as the delivery charge may apply for custom orders.
The delivery service and set up of Brooklyn aurora is unlike many other mattresses, where the removal of old mattresses service is provided to customers. I rate Brooklyn aurora 3.5 out of 5.
Thickness
Max Thickness : 2.95" (7.5 cm)
The TV is average thickness, the bottom of the TV has a slight lip. It will stick out from a wall a bit if mounted so if you want a very flush mount you may need something else.
Mine is mounted and is always angles so its no issue.
Build Quality
The build quality is average, the case is primariliy plastic. The TV is not going to just fall apart. Of coarse there are better built TVs but for the price I feel its a good TV
Stand
The legs are almost as wide as the TV so your stand/table must be almost as wide. The plastic feet do look good due to the silvered coloring.

Remote
The remote is relatively small. I have no complaints about the remote. It's easy to use and you'll have the buttons memorized in no time for use at night in the dark.
Motion
The motion handling of the S305 is average to below average. Some motion blur is present when displaying fast paced content.
Movies played from a Blu-ray player are smooth, but some minor judder is present when watching movies via cable or a stream. This minor judder isn't noticeable to most people.
The TV has a 60Hz panel so it could be better but for the price it is not a bad viewing experience for most.
TCL Value & Recommendation
I have 3 of these TV's at my home and for me they are good enough quality. They connect easily to wifi, apps are seamless and it is very easy to use.
